I have been a fan of the Nines since the early 90’s. So i’m stoked when Steve Eggers releases new music. Echoes of Future Past came out August 18 , but I knew it was coming before that. Make sure you check out the new album on bandcamp and buy the album! Now the big question for me is what track will I spin on the radio show?
“There was a time when radio linked us all together. You could hear the newest hit on am radio and we all shared that unified experience. It captures memories like a time capsule. That’s why I went back to my old Tascam and Yamaha cassette porta studios again to make this new Nines album. For me it was returning to happy accidents and capturing sounds in rooms again. Vari-speed (where you speed things up and slow things down), (backwards sounds) by turning the tape the other way. I wanted to create a 1970s sound as it would sound on an am radio. I talked to Andy on his Pop Fuss podcast concept if you want to hear more. “

“So play it on your transistor radio or your phone. It was meant for that. Listen here and you will see what I mean.”
