This & That The 456 – Ground

Received an email from Susan O’Grady. Nice to find out about what NLX is up to. I have been following her music since the 90’s?? She has teamed up with David Wolfert to form “The 456”. Hopefully they will be announcing some dates in the Southern Ontario area! I will be spinning tracks on SCM.

From Susan..

Hi Jamie, Hamilton’s own Natasha Alexandra (NLX) is releasing a new EP,Life On The Head Of A Pin , with her musical partner New York’s  David Wolfert who has worked with everyone from Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Dolly Parton and Cher next Friday October 31st.

Together the duo are calledTHE 456, named for the 456 miles from David’s home studio in New York City to Natasha’s hometown of Hamilton, ON.   David, who despite writing with an incredible array of artists, never formed a band of his own until he heard Natasha perform at music writers circle in New York.

Their new EPLife On The Head Of A Pin  is a collection of songs shaped by the aftermath of a category F5 Tornado of the personal kind. It is set for release on Oct 31st.

Love if you could take a listen and consider featuring.

Thanks again
Susan

Toronto, ON – October 8th  2025  –   THE 456 today announce the release of their new EP Life On The Head of a Pin. To celebrate the announcement the duo, consisting of New York City native David Wolfert (Whitney, Streisand, Dolly, Cher) and proud Hamiltonian Natasha Alexandra (NLX) share the lead single “GROUND“, a song rooted in moving through life’s ups and downs.

Listen/Share: THE 456 “GROUND”

Available now on all music services.

New York City has a magical way of bringing people together. One November night in the East Village, it introduced Hamilton, Ontario indie singer/songwriter, Natasha Alexandra, to prolific New York music veteran, David Wolfert and in one of those famed New York minutes everything changed. Together this creative odd couple formed THE 456, named for the 456 miles from David’s home studio in New York City to Natasha’s hometown of Hamilton, ON.

Their forthcoming EPLife On The Head Of A Pin  is a collection of emotionally honest songs shaped by the aftermath of a category F5 Tornado of the personal kind and choosing to move through it. “The wonderful thing about writing from the heart is once you get over feeling too vulnerable, you begin to realize how many of us are balancing Life On The Head Of A Pin. It’s when we share our own truth we create connections and bridges to a kinder, more grounded place” Natasha says.

In just 5 songs, Life On The Head Of A Pin  takes you on a full circle emotional journey. Beginning with the lead single “GROUND’” which sets the tone of what’s to come. “GROUND” tricks you into thinking it’s just a simple love song, but then grows to show itself to be a sonic statement of what’s to come. It is rooted in the lessons of grit we wear as second skin as we grow, learn and find ground and balance in life’s shakiest of moments.

Life On The Head Of A Pin  is set for release on 31st October 2025. THE 456 will be launching the record at Pete’s Candy Store, Brooklyn on November 6th. Tickets are on sale now.
