A couple quick things about our songs, is some of them are about local Niagara stories, such as Love Always Wanda. The “lyrics” to that song are written on a long ago jail cell at the Welland historic court house. Wanda wrote a dedication to her late husband, Gil on the wall, she was accused of murdering him back in the late 50’s. The jury found her innocent, but everyone in town agreed she was guilty. I found it when I was bringing contractors through the facility to do an HVAC site visit.
Another one is Dynamite Luke. He tried to bomb the St Catharines corridor of the lock system, in particular Lock 24 in April of 1900. Had he succeeded, he would have flood Thorold and it would not exist to this present day.
