Toronto, ON – November 18, 2025 – Canadian Billboard-charting artist Avery Raquel returns with her latest deeply relatable single, “Shoes,” an exploration of love and self-doubt, with Montreal artist Ali Levy and featuring Ariel Posen on guitar.

Following the release of her 2025 singles “The Letter”, “Hard to Stay”, and “Like The Rain”, Avery continues to showcase her talent for blending soul, alternative, and modern R&B influences. “Shoes” finds Avery collaborating with Ali Levy and producer Matt McCormack to craft a track that is both intimate and richly layered.

Written and co-produced by Avery Raquel and Ali Levy, “Shoes” features instrumentation including acoustic guitar, trombone, synths, drums, and piano, as well as slide and electric guitar recorded by well-known Canadian Roots guitarist Ariel Posen. Avery’s and Ali’s emotive vocals take center stage, supported by strong vocal unison and harmonies, while McCormack’s production weaves an atmospheric soundscape that is both edgy and contemporary.

“Shoes” explores the emotions of early relationship insecurities, with the knowledge that your new partner has previously loved another, and wondering how the differences may have an effect. “Do you think about her still? Do I have her shoes to fill?”

The song captures the delicate balance between vulnerability and angst, offering listeners a reflective moment on personal growth and human connection. Its storytelling and musicianship demonstrate Avery’s continued evolution as a songwriter and performer.
