Immerse yourself in a big-screen audio-visual experience with the greatest moments in music ever captured on film. This season, host Alysha Main will take the audience on a journey through the making of music documentaries, concert films, and movies with iconic soundtracks. A live performance by a musical guest accompanies each screening.

Alysha Main

Alysha Main is a Music Supervisor, Event Manager, DJ, and Podcaster who has worked in the entertainment industry for 20 years. Her career has taken her to Toronto, London, and Melbourne, working in Artist Management, Event Promotion, Sales, and Marketing. She is the creator and host of the Hamilton Film podcast, documenting the local film industry, and the co-founder of The Hamilton Ladies of Film & TV. In 2017 she shifted her focus to Music Supervision, studying at Berklee College of Music, and working on film and TV projects in Canada and the USA. In 2022 she joined the team at the historic Westdale theatre as Venue & Events Manager.

Ginger St. James

Born to entertain, Ginger St. James’ song-writing and voice are as powerful as they are poignant. Powerful in a way where it’s hard to believe such a voice comes from a petite five-foot frame. Poignant in a way that the music and the message rings true through the test of time. Her repertoire blends country, rockabilly and blues with a sultry voice and commanding stage presence. Ginger St James brings a combination of high energy and incredible sweetness to the stage that is beyond comparison. Ginger St. James stands out as one of Canada’s most exciting performers – You won’t be able to resist falling in love.

CFMU is music, news, information and culture for McMaster University. For more than 40 years of broadcasting, CFMU serves as a forum for underrepresented artists and voice to many groups with physical, mental and invisible minorities.

CFMU also celebrates diversity. Across over a 100 programs crafted by students and community members, CFMU provides a safe space to share intriguing ideas, exchange new music/multi-cultural perspectives and address various social issues warranting our attention.
