Pink Leather Jackets’ new single Sixteen Forties is oozing with the nostalgia of teen angst and sentiments of overcoming the chains of suburbia. The song is about the trials and tribulations of being a teenager from a broken home and a small town with nothing to do. The band sings of teen mischief, getting kicked out of school, wanting to escape the small town, and trying to move on. The opening lyrics, “Sixteen and drinking forties! Nothing out of the ordinary! It’s all been done before me, I’ll make a way!” are shouted by the band, setting the tone for the rest of the song. Sixteen Forties is an anthem for the underdog. Pink Leather Jackets hails from Toronto, Canada and has been making waves in their southern province of Ontario. After the release of their debut EP Good Love in 2019, and as runners-up in 97.7 HTZ FM Rocksearch 2020, Pink Leather Jackets are now following up with a sophomore EP, and are now releasing their third single Sixteen Forties.
