SCM chat with William Schwendiman Jan 8 2025
William Shwendiman (Brodie) and I sat down on a cold Hamilton morning at The Casbah lounge for a chat. It was announced back in Nov 2024 that The Casbah will be closing its doors at the end of January 2025. So over 2 coffees we chatted about the journey for Brodie on how it all started for him. Timelines are a bit fuzzy for us , but we are able to piece things together. Lots of memories for both of us flood back to us; some will flood back for others whom ever entered the doors. In the chat, we discuss the ever changing landscape of booking live entertainment over the years. Its a long a chat and it should be! Even as it ended we didn't touch upon other events that came up over the years that meant something to us and the rest of the Hamilton music community. We will be sitting down again and yap about music some time down the road, lets just let Brodie and his staff get through the next couple of weeks. It will be emotional for them and the rest of us to say goodbye to The Casbah.
