COTS is the solo project of Canadian composer, singer and guitarist Steph Yates. Blending elements of bossanova, tropicalia, folk, jazz and classical against a modern art backdrop. Yates has crafted a suite of subtly unconventional compositions for nylon-string guitar and voice. To enrich the arrangements of COTS songs in live performance, Yates is often accompanied by Bry Webb (The Constantines).

Neil Haverty is a Hamilton-born musician and composer, best known as co-founder of alt-folk ensemble Bruce Peninsula. Haverty has spent the last few years focused on making music for film (Wildhood), video games (Floodland) and series (Who Owns the World), but lately he’s turning his attention back to songwriting and singing in public.

This event takes place in the front room (Lounge +Cafe) of The Staircase Theatre (27 Dundurn St N, Hamilton). Both food (try the “Vancouver Dog “) and drink are available, including alcohol. Please note: this room IS wheelchair accessible.
