The Safety Collective 2009 - 2011
A power-trio from Hamilton ON with a musical direction of "wherever the music takes us!"
The Safety Collective is one of only a handful of bands whose members perform each role onstage throughout their set. Campbell is the primary drummer while Chris and Steve split guitar and bass duties. Campbell also takes over the microphone to deliver his own raps during which Chris and Steve take turns playing drums.
Formed in December 2010, this band is chalk full of diverse influences which reflects all the genres they love to play the most: rock, reggae, ska, soul and hip-hop. Only 3 months after forming, they performed their first gig on March 5 2011 at The Sky Dragon Centre (now known as Homegrown Hamilton). From March 5 to December 16 The Safety Collective performed 10 shows, 2 outdoor festival appearances and 1 acoustic-picket-line performance for USW-1005. They can perform up to an hour of all original songs and up to 2 hours of originals and covers.
The Safety Collective is currently in the process of recording their first EP, which will be titled "Safety First!" and will be available online and in CD format March 2012
